In the air...

"Returned" to the air after 3 years. Kind of excited, especially being greeted by the beautiful sky.

Though it was a short stopover in Melbourne, a message (received in the air) from an ex-colleague who has migrated to Melbourne warmed my heart...

It's one of those very few trips (apart from those paid tour groups) that I did not do much preparation before departure. The more intensive research was the train journey, which I started even before Covid times, apart from the air tickets. Finding links related to places to go is easy. But it takes time to read very thoroughly in order to plan a good trip. Unfortunately, time was lacking, for this trip.

Grateful to Ying Leng, who has been to both Adelaide & lived in Sydney, had fallen back on her as a local guide. I could imagine the unseen stress that might have fallen on her shoulder.

This trip, I would consider, an orientation trip. There are more to discover, definitely. Likely will continue to plan two more trips, one for Adelaide and one of Sydney.

Being the first trip after 3.5 years, it took me some time to get ready and warm up. This includes giving more time to packing, and re-working out the packing list - in particular, the type of medication/ related-stuff to bring along. Now, masks are added to the packing list. I forgot an important item - the ART kit, only came to my mind when I arrived in Melbourne.

During the trip - to mask up or not? That's another consideration. In crowded places like the tram or train? OR only at the airport? But, definitely, in the airplane.
