    • Home, finally...
After some warming up, it took close to 1½ days to sort out the photos taken in this trip.
Instead of loading most of the photos in the Facebook or in the blog, have tried something new, tapping on the new feature in Padlet - sections within the Grid format, building on what I started testing for the local trips.

In the air...

"Returned" to the air after 3 years. Kind of excited, especially being greeted by the beautiful sky.

Though it was a short stopover in Melbourne, a message (received in the air) from an ex-colleague who has migrated to Melbourne warmed my heart...

In Adelaide...

Completed the Master degree in Educational Studies, awarded by the university through the Ngee Ann-Adelaide Education Centre. At last, get to set foot in the campus, years after graduation.

It's an eye treat ... a scroll along North Terrace in the winter evening

Rundall mall is the main shopping area, filled with shopping malls, shop houses, cafes and restaurants.
A nice place for window shopping. There are also some artefacts that adds character to the area.

A much-publicised must-go place ... has lost the lusture of its golden days

One of the beaches visited by tourists (in the free zone).
It overlooked the "Indian Ocean" at its far end...

A nice windy experience at the end of the jetty.
Sunset came early in winter... hm... where's the sun...

 Sense of Satisfaction

It has not changed - at least in Adelaide. Shops and eating places close as early as 5 pm!

- Be it weekday or weekend. Be it winder or summer.

It's probably the Australian lifestyle.

On board... The Indian-Pacific Train

Crossing the Time Zones

All this while, I know the Australia's time is ahead of the Singapore; and usually I only travel to one city per trip. Hence, it did not occur to me, till this morning when I checked the time difference, that there are 3 time zones in Australia!

Factually....

The Blue Mountains

Nature's beauty and artwork. The famous landmark in Blue Mountains.

Did not expect this.
It disrupts the quietness of nature but brings out the awe in an entirely different format.

A Celebration of Friendship

@Ying Leng: Grateful for the great company and being the guide along the way.

Seeing double???
Thank you, Ying Leng - for the great shot!

In Sydney City...

A renowned landmark that the world associate with... not just Sydney, but Australia

Shades of gold - the sunset in winter.

A piece of the history... it's about the 'migrated' roots
the sadness, pain and resilience...
we would probably not see today's Australia, if not because of these pioneers

It reminds me of the holocaust stories heard back in
Amsterdam and Poland's Auschwitz Concentration Camp site

A place that holds pieces of history that are significant to Australia's nation-building

A very focused educational journey into Australia's history and resources

Paddy's Market

- a place where locals go for fresh produce while tourists would go for souvenirs to bring home at pretty reasonable rates (though mostly made in China)

Sydney Fish Market, an alternative place for breakfast (mostly, for tourists)

Feel the 'oldness' of the train stations... and am amazed by how the past could accommodate the changes over time - the railway tracks, the tunnels - its foresightedness and versatility.

The underground stations remind me of those in the old European cities.

An old town that was once a new town that was a mark of development and progress
